It has nothing to do with tenpin bowling, bowling centres, lanes or pinsetters, and it is not related to Brunswick Sync or Sync Center Operations, which are tenpin products with similar names. If you are looking for scoring or centre management for a tenpin alley, Bowls Sync is not it.

How is Bowls Sync different from BowlsLink?

BowlsLink is the official national administration platform used for pennant scores, membership records and official results. Bowls Sync is not a replacement for it and does not compete with it. Bowls Sync is the working layer in the clubrooms: selecting weekly pennant sides, building draws, running social and corporate events, printing cards and sharing results with members. BowlsLink records the result of a pennant match; Bowls Sync is how the club decides who plays in it. Clubs use both, and Bowls Sync is designed never to duplicate or conflict with BowlsLink.

Can Bowls Sync be used for pennant team selection?

Yes, and this is one of the main reasons clubs adopt it. Bowls Sync is a new way to select weekly pennant sides. Selectors build each week's teams on screen — placing players by position as skip, third, second and lead across every rink and division — instead of working through a whiteboard, a paper grid or a spreadsheet at the selection meeting. The side sheet then prints or shares directly, and the same names flow through to score cards and results. Selection committees typically involve several selectors for an hour or more each week, so this is where most of the time is recovered. Official pennant scores and membership records still go to BowlsLink; Bowls Sync handles the selection work that happens before that.

Which competition formats does Bowls Sync support?

Social triples and fours, social pairs, multi-day carnivals with AM and PM sessions, sets play, corporate and barefoot leagues over 10 to 14 weeks, 5-a-side, club championships, tournaments, sectional play, and pennant — including weekly pennant side selection across multiple divisions and rinks. These are managed inside Bowls Sync itself; it is standalone software, not a front end for another platform.

Where is club data stored?

On the club's own device, in the browser's local storage. Player names, draws and results are not uploaded to a server. Clubs move data between devices using the built-in JSON backup and restore.

Bowls Sync is a commercial software product with published pricing, sold directly to clubs. An Annual Club Licence is $440 AUD for the whole club for a full year — about $8.46 a week, less than the cost of one set of printed score cards. That $440 rate applies when the licence is activated during the trial period and is held for on-time renewals; the standard price is $503 AUD, about $9.67 a week. There is no per-member charge, no subscription tiers and no setup fee. A 22-day full-access trial is included and requires no payment details.
